External Hard Drive

I have an external hardrive but my pc doesnt pick it up. Also the light on the external turns on and the external i on to making noise .

What should i do ?

Check in disk management to see if it's hidden or needs to be formatted, if nothing pops up, there is a possibility it's dead

Well were is disk management cant find it and i pretty is okay also my laptop not working well trying to back up some files

1. Go to your start bar and type Computer Management

2. Press enter

3. On the left hand side there should be a bar that says Disc Management

4.Click that

5. Now if you see some form of drive in the selector on top that says format needed than it's ok, If nothing is there than it might be dead
