it will work fine, my friend runs that software while working, and has no issues since he's only mining on the gpu(gtx 1070 ti). if you have low end gpu it could be an issue

I just got in a new graphics card for my computer, and while I wasn't planning on using it for the sole purpose of mining, I figured that if I can earn some money while I'm not using it, why not? What might be a good program that I can use that will do this and immediately stop when I move my mouse or something. Any suggestions would be good, it doesn't even need to be crypto mining.

Folding@home can do that. It can be setup to run only when your system is idle. By running folding at home, you'll be contributing to research that can aid in the development and production of therapies and cures for diseases such as cancer, Covid-19, Alzheimer's, Parkinson’s and many more.

I'd suggest NiceHash QuickMiner. There's nothing as easy or straightforward, and it has the ability to quickly turn on or off "Game Mode" which stops mining and even restores any gaming specific OC settings you might have.

No. You need to enable Game Mode or manually stop it.
