today, i backed up my iphone 11 onto my m1 macbook, i erased everything on my iphone, when i tried to restore my backup onto the same iphone, my macbook pro is asking me for an encryption password, which i never was given the chance to set, is there anywhere out of this, or do you know anyway where i could guess the password without having my iphone reset each time, maybe there is a command on terminal or something?? i get an unlimited password guesses but each time i make a guess the iphone has to fully reset back to factory settings which takes sometime.  i tried over a hundred times, but no luck. both devices are the latest software update, if anyone knows a way i could restore my backed up files from my mac to my iphone, please let me know.

If the backup is encrypted and you don't know the password, there's no way to restore it, outside of making a lucky guess.

Most people I troubleshooted this issue for have one of following passwords set as their backup-encryption password:

Their Mac's password(they were prompted for a password and thought this was to continue)

Their iPhone's Passcode(very common 'mistake')

Their Apple ID Password

If you haven't tried these, I highly suggest you do so.

If you can't remember the password. Sorry, your data is gone. There is no way to retrieve it ad Eigenvektor said.
