Hiya, long time viewer but first post on the Reddit and I need some advice:

Specs:

12600kf

NHD-15

Gigabyte z690 gaming X ddr4

Crucial ballistic ddr4 3200mhz 2x16

Samsung 980nvme 1tb

Seasonic focus gx 750w

Rx 580 strix top

I built my second pc on Jan 10th and ever since I booted into windows I've had issues. It started with it randomly blue sceening and shutting off without prompt. With help from some more technical friends than myself I diagnosed that I had a memory issue. with a Linux bootable memory test checker I was able to find out my issue. An out of date bios, the new bios improved comparability with XMP settings for memory. Afterwards my system became much more stable with no crashing or blue screens. However over the last few days my pc crashes while I'm playing games typically so it's caused partially at least by load. Using the same methods as before I tested my memory which has no errors. So I believe there's an issue with my power supply or some buggy driver or some loose cable. My CPU's temps are fine but my GPUs are around the high eighty's under load which while within range are a little uneasy. Just looking for any other opinions for what may be causing spontaneous crashing? Ive had XMP disabled since my first memory issues so I don't believe it's that. So either a power supply or driver issue is my main idea. Any other help is appreciated!

Corrupt windows installation, or corrupt system file(s) can also cause crashes.

2 days after a fresh install it crashed the same as before, no warning. Just a shut off and me having to turn on the pc again. Any other suggestions other than looking into the PSU?

Does event viewer -> system logs show any critical or error level logs?
"The system was not cleanly shutdown" will not help us here, that's an obvious one.

Another good thing to check is XMP stability via CMOS clear, it will undo any overclocks.
Also what is the part number of your memory? I know RAM should just work, but if it's not on the QVL it is not guaranteed

Had a look at event viewer. There are nearly 160 errors over the last week for about 24 different reasons. My memory is on the motherboards QVL list as it's a pair of 16gb crucial sticks. About half the error messages seem to be logged by Microsoft from device manager and be talking about what seems like basic windows stuff. When I reinstalled windows I did it from the cloud. Should I try just using a bootable USB in case it's still corrupted windows files?

Go to windows templates and click system logs, that will give us a better look at more important ones. Just the recent ones around the time of the crash.

You could try bootable USB, wouldn't hurt
