Advice For Build

Hello everyone,

 

I'm helping a friend build a computer to replace his old pre-built, and would like an opinion on this build.  So far I've come up with this, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3t3ed.  His budget is around $550, and he wants to stay as close to that as possible.  The only thing I'm worried about are the CPU/Mobo and a little less worried about the GPU, wondering if these are good components(I don't want him to buy it and be mad at me if it turns out to be bad).  As for usage, he says he wants it for everyday stuff and gaming.

Also, we might not need to get the OS/HDD if he decides to recycle it from his old PC, so i'll leave that out for now, but I wouldn't mind recommendations for HDDs.

i think you can dumb down that psu to like a 430 or 450 and if you dont plan to oc then you dont need a aftermarket cooler

i think you can dumb down that psu to like a 430 or 450 and if you dont plan to oc then you dont need a aftermarket cooler

 

I was thinking the PSU might've been a little high, forgot to check before I posted.  And no overclocking, Should've asked before.  But now I'm thinking that the cooler could be used just to make it a little quieter?  Or is it not worth it?

i have to say this but a 270 can oc to a 270x almost always

Quick question about the RAM, is there any difference between single and dual channel, or is that just hearsay?

no oc he dont need the aftermarket cooler and stock are pretty quiet, and you could go with a kaveri for those games im sure or go with @SAV1OUR 's build

hang on are we talking cpu or gpu? both are load but he can save up for a little bit and get a 212 evo for the cpu

you can OC on a stock but its not worth the risk because of how poorly they dissipate heat  

gpu coolers like the big dual fans and tri fans on tpus are fine for ocing but if you take like a blower style then maybe not
