Okay, so i'll start of by saying that I didn't really know where to put this thread as there could be multiple problems here.

PC Specs

i5 3570k (Not Overclocked)

GTX 770 Windforce

Samsung 840 Evo (120gb SSD for boot drive)

Seagate 1tb 7200rpm HDD

8gb Corsair XMS3 Memory (1600Mhz)

Corsair 750 CXM PSU

Additional info:

Windows 8.1

Connection: Ethernet (But I do have a wifi card built in)

SSD - 77.7GB Free / 111GB

HDD - 643GB Free / 931GB

I only use the SSD for my operating system and programs, all downloads, music, videos and documents are put onto my HDD.

So about 5 days ago, after performing a windows update (8.1), my system would not start. This problem has been found in multiple systems and is due to a confliction between a windows and nvidia driver from what I found out. This forced me to have to wipe my SSD and reinstall windows all together. Luckily I have all my games and media on my other 1tb harddrive. After reinstalling windows, I installed my usual programs, I'll post a quick list:

- Fences (Stardock)

- Spotify

- Microsoft Word (Professional Pack)

- iObit Advanced Systemcare

- Skype & Teamspeak

- Google Chrome

- GeForce Experience

- Steam & Origin

- FTP Client (WinSCP)

- McAfee Antivirus & Malware Bytes

- CCleaner

- TuneUp Utilities

- Adobe Programs (Photoshop, Premiere etc)

- Razer Synapse, Samsung Magician & Logitech Gaming Software

And a few others such as Fraps and other programs I usually use however this is when I noticed a problem.

After rebooting my PC and fixing my Fences, when my PC turns on, everything takes a while to start up (programs like Spotify and Skype) especially fences, If i right click, everything begins to start instantly though. I optimize my PC all the time and this could be a source of the problem.

I'll show some images to help people get a better understanding of my current settings etc.

Things I have looked into / done

Done:

Reinstalled Fences (Multiple Times and removed the registry keys associated)

Reduced startup services and programs

Made explorer.exe high priority

Removed any unnecessary data (Old logs / windows backup files etc)

SSD Optimizations both Performance and Software

Looked into:

Adding Fences as an exception to antivirus

Looking to see if there is any delay on the services when booted up

Does anybody have any solutions I could try? All will be greatly appreciate.

If you defrag the SSD, that might be a reason. NEVER, EVER, EVER defrag an SSD.

Yeah, I make sure I don't defrag it xD

Okay, there's one of MANY possible problems out the window. Are you on a beta Nvidia driver, or a stable release?

Go back to the stable and see if that fixes it.

I used to use the beta version before I reset my PC thought and it was fine?

That's weird.

To which sata port is your ssd or hdd connected to? It should be in the white sata port.

I kinda had an issue awhile ago, kinda a very weird issue that took me ages to solve because it only happens once a month or 3 >.> Pressing the reset button or just powering the PC down the SSD gets complety wiped or the OS is just corrupt. When I upgraded my ssd I noticed my older one the pcb was bent, shorting out etc that caused the issue.
