A friend of mine just got a new PC. PC has the Gigabyte H410m s2h v3 MB with an integrated GPU. The PC works fine as it is, HDMI plugged directly into the MB. However he also got a RX570 for it, but that seems to not work for whatever reason. He plugged everything correctly with the 6+2 Pin connector and the GPU is ON, but the PC doesn't recognize it. He can see this easily since he can still access his PC via the HDMI port on the MB. He tried updating everything through the Gigabyte APP, but still nothing. Anyone?

Specs:

MB: H410m s2h v3

CPU: i5 10400

PSU: Coolermaster 700w

16gb RAM

Asus strix rx570 8gb

Did he plug the monitor into the video card when it was checked? If you use a discrete GPU, it functions off its own outputs.  Also the video drivers for that card need to be added.  If there was a previous discrete video card the old drivers would have to be removed.  Either through DDU (special instructions to use that program) or with a full clean install.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

If the HDMI is plugged into the GPU he gets no signal, the PC had no GPU prior to this one, again it only has the integrated GPU, which shouldn't cause any problems

Ok.  So it’s in the right port.  What about the driver thing?

Installed everything, still not detected

Odd. And everything is seated and connected correctly as well?  I remember you saying you tested the video card in another device and it was known good.  If it is and the software is right and the connections are right that just leaves the motherboard.

Yo thank you for the help, I'll see if he can get a new MB, it always sucks when you buy pre build PCs.

I'll let you know if it works
