I am hoping to reopen this thread. Im running an ASROCK Z390 Pro4 motherboard, the hub that i have ive tried plugging in the LED SW connector into several ways and nothing is working. The way the system was prebuilt its not connected. I would like at the very least to have the front I/O controlled rgb so I can change the colors. I only have 3 pin connectors on the hub available for the 2 pin LED SW. Which again ive tried in both 3 pin connectors in several orientations. What am I misunderstanding here?

this is the link to my current issue but the resolution doesnt make sense to me. I did just copy and paste my comment on that but I figured I would tag the post as well. is there any way I can make this work without having to buy all new fans? The fans and hub are proprietary from CLX and i cant buy any more of them or a hub for them because they are 8 pin fan and rgb combo connectors

That connector does not connect to the motherboard. Some RGB controllers allow using a switch to cycle between different RGB patterns without connecting the controller to a motherboard. If your build doesn't have any RGB controllers besides the ones built into the motherboard, then you can't use that switch. Can you take a picture of the CLX fan controller?

That's tricky, it's possible the hub got a revision to be MB-controlled, but the case didn't get the revision and still has the LED button that is no longer functional.

Can you take a pic of the labels around the white connector that says M_IN? Also on the bottom part of the hub, there's that "empty" connector spot that says "CONTROL", is there anything on the back of the hub in that area? Looks like this was used to control the RGB in the past and got removed in the latest revision.

Don't see any way the LED SW connector would fit on there... looks like the white port can be connected to one of the mainboard ARGB headers, but that's not a standard connector, so you'd need a special cable for that. The system is a prebuilt? And you're trying to make the RGB lights changable? You'd probably have to contact support, I don't know how exactly that controller works and there's no obvious spot the switch could plug into.

It is a prebuilt and the fans and hub seem to be proprietary parts that you only get in the pre built. I am indeed solely wanting the lights changable even if its just with the buttons on the front of the case. Unfortunately for me the motherboard I have doesnt have any rgb headers of any kind only pwm connectors

Sadly I don't think there's anything you can do, unless you have a way of figuring out what the components on the controller do. The chip labeled U2 seems to have some empty spots around it, but it's pretty much impossible to figure out what they were designed for originally.
