So its been a few months since i moved to am AMD platform with a 5800x and an RTX 3080 combo. Ever since, I have been experiencing this bug where my games would start stuttering at regular intervals (probably every 200ms) after 4-5 hours of the PC being on (No sleep). The first 2-3 hours of gameplay has no issues at all and all my games just fly on the 3080. I have noticed that these stutters are present in all games I play and they have a pattern (I saw this in the GPU usage graph in MSI afterburner, the gpu usage just drops a tad bit every 200ms approx). The fix for this issue?!, is to either restart the PC or to put it to sleep and then turning it back on. I have tried almost  everything I could think of to troubleshoot this, including doing a fresh install of windows and reseating my components, to no avail. I even tried to see if there is any rogue background app but I could not find any, I do not have much apps installed and my PC is usually pretty clean app wise. This is no big deal, atleast I managed to put together a killer PC in the current scenario when others are struggling to find parts but this issue bugs me out!. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know so that I can try out some other troubleshooting steps.

With only that information to go on, the only things I can think of for the culprit is insufficient cooling (Try not overclocking with MSI Afterburner if you are currently doing that), or Windows 11. (I hear windows 11 is pretty hit or miss right now, and not doing so hot with great compatibility just yet) Maybe give it a try with Windows 10 and see if the issue persists?

I have already tried installing windows 10 to no avail, same issue there. Cooling is definitely not the issue here as I am not seeing max cpu temp go beyond 75 degrees and the gpu is sitting at around 65 degrees max.

Samsung 860 evo 1tb for the boot drive and an 870 evo plus 1tb for my games.. I have Samsung magician installed to manage the drives..

Are you playing the games in 1080p? That can be very demanding on the CPU with how good of graphics card you have. It does FPS so well in 1080p that CPU or slower memory can get pretty stressed. If it is utilizing the CPU very heavily, its possible it cant use the memory to its full potential or keep up after a certain point. Frame limiting the game, or using more/faster memory may help it. Raising the resolution so the rendering becomes more GPU bound can also help that.

Before bothering to mess with your memory, I would try the frame limiting the game or using a higher resolution if your using 1080p, so the GPU does more work than the CPU and takes the load off the CPU some.
