AIO Pump Speed

goatsmartfella

I have a NZXT Kraken x63 and there are two different performance modes. Silent and performance. My pc is below my desk so noise isn't an issue. Is there a difference that would make one better than the other? Would always having performance mode on decrease the lifespan at all?

Performance would technically increase wear on the pump as it's going to be working harder at higher RPM. That said, I doubt it would be any significant reduction in life span, so if you can't hear any difference between the two from where you sit relative to your PC, I'd stick to performance mode for the better cooling.
