I am clueless on knowing where to put this, so modsn feel free to move it if I have posted in the wrong section.
Hi, I'm not gonna ramble on, I'll get to the point. I havve 2 laptops now (Old: i7-8550u, 8gb ram. New: i7-11390h, 16gb ram.), annd I was wondering if it would be possiible to game on my new laptop, and then use the old one for broadcasting it on Twitch 1080p/60 (using a capture card). Obviously 8gb of ram isn't enough, so I was planning to upgrade it to 32gb. Would alll this work? If so, how do I do it?
PS: Games are unplayable on old laptop, so i'm not using that as the gaming laptop.
cheers!

What gpu does the new one have? If it's an nvidia card the old one is pointless to use as you can just use the nvenc encoder and have a 1%-3% performance hit for streaming but far better convenience.

If you want to use the old one 8gb of ram is plenty enough. All it has to do is encode video but chances are at best it will look the same as the much easier and infinitely cheaper (it's literally free) single laptop setup.

I'm looking to stream Valorant at 1080p/60fps on Twitch using OBS/SLOBS (low graphics ingame). Wouldd it be possible to do that without crashes, and 70+ fps ob my end? My specs are: Inspiron 15 5510, i7-11390h, 16gb (2x8) 3200mhz ram, and I usually get 140fps on Valorant (low graphics). Would this be possible? Although the best way to do this is to test, I'm not allowed to use my new laptop until the new school year starts, or on some occasionsn, on the weekend, so any insight at all is much appreciated.

with your specs you should be fine. I have tried streaming 1080p 60FPS gameplay on my i7 9700 and didn't notice any loss in framerate so you are going to be very fine even with your (maybe) slightly less powerful 11700h or whatever you have in your laptop

32gb is overkill. You should try it first and see if RAM even is the bottleneck. Most likely it's still the CPU on the old laptop if anything.
