Different CPU utilization

When playing game like rdr 2 and warzone i only noticed on these games that my CPU utilization is different than what nvidia performance layout shows who should i trust?

Trust Task manager. NVIDIA may have some delay since they're 3rd party and not have much or early access to the system I guess.

The Nvidia details depend on the polling rate set for performance monitoring so might just show a different moment. Nvidia might also looking at utilisation per core or of the total amount of cores. If you have a secondary monitor you can keep task manager on there and see how the percentages relate to each other. 

 

I'd also be interested to see how the performance tab looks for taskmanager. 

 

But, as already said in general task manager likely is a better indicator.  Also because Nvidia did a piss poor job documentation the feature so there is no way of looking up what their percentage is based on.
