BFCM discount code not working?

Im watching the WAN show (an hour behind or so) and saw that there was a $20 discount for purchases of $30 or more that include any of the meme purchases, I tried to do the sad linus deskpad and some cable ties, but was met with an error tha the promo does not apply to items in the cart.
