Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard  ($318.15 @ Amazon)

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: VR only

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Hi all,

I was wondering if it was worth it to build a PC for VR or just settle on something like the Alienware aurora ryzen edition R14.

The price for the alienware is pretty steep, would I be better off just building my own? If so what would that look like?

thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Uhhh do you already have a pc?

Cause 8500$ for a vr only pc is very much overkill, if you are talking vr setup then itd be on the higher end of vr setups

its actually not for me its for my nephew, i just wanted to get an idea of how it would look if i built it myself and if by doing that I could make it better than the alienware ryzen model
