Ok having this problem with my pc lately. I had a similiar problem before and solved it by replacing my mother board (used some crap old msi MO and skylake i5 4th generation, i think i fried the chipset) Now it just started to turn on/off at its will. First i thought it was the temps but they seem normal everytime the pc shutdowns. Nor it isnt the powersupply overheating. Just not sure what it is because i dont think that faulty powersupply tends to turn on the pc randomly. And it isnt like instant like the pc shutsdown then reboots instantly sometimes it shutsdown then is powered off for some time and then it boots up again. Also it does not black out it show the loading circle turning off. Tried replugging everything nothing seems to work.

My specs -聽Gigabyte B450 GAMING X,聽AMD Ryzen 7 2700,聽NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, old 500w powersupply,聽hyperx fury ram 16G

Please help been real frustrated with it. 馃槥

ps: sorry if my english isnt that good am from slovakia

Can you close in on when it shuts down?聽 Are you gaming?聽 Web browsing?聽 Something specific that you're doing?

Can you run off one stick of RAM to see if maybe a bad stick in there?

If gaming, could be the PSU protections kicking in for some reason.聽 Maybe GPU out of spec and tripping them?

We need a bit more info and investigation on your end.

Thx for the reply.

Actually the pc isnt in any kind of load. I dont do much gaming these days so pc's just idleing while i do my work. So it does not seem like the problem's Linked to hardware stress.

Ram seems to behave fine

The fact you had this happen once before makes it sound like malware. What security solution are you using?

Been using avast then switched to normal Windows antivirus they did not detect anything.

Oh, did you have those RAM modules on the previous mobo? Assuming it's not just re-training the memory (it can do a reboot 3-5 times to do this) you may have an electrically faulty module. Honestly, I would not have thought of that.

Yeah, sounds like the RAM module. Might want to try taking half of them out, then if it boots correctly, try the other half and see if that reproduces your issue.

If neither module works, try unplugging the computer, hit the power button, then plug it back in and try again. If it boots this time your building's power is likely at fault.

You're very welcome. To prevent that from happening in the future you should consider a line-interactive UPS such as these sold by Cyberpower.聽Regular old surge protectors or cheap UPS might not be enough if you have an unstable power supply. Yes, they start at $100, but they will protect your whole computer from future damage. I've literally had lightning strike the pole in front of my window where my PC sits and the PC kept running even as I fell off the chair and the lights went out. It's worth protecting your investment.

This is not an endorsement of Cyberpower or their products, any similar line-interactive or online UPS would be sufficient. I've simply had good luck with Cyperpower UPSes. I currently own three and they've all been stellar.
