Default gateway changes to wrong adress

So first of all, the issue Im experiencing is that all my networks lose internet access because the default gateway changes to 192.168.88.2 (not 192.168.88.1).

The correct gateway would be 192.168.88.1 - Mikrotik LHG LTE6 antenna. Instead it changes to my second, upstairs AP, which gets internet access from eth1 - the first AP.

Any way to prevent this? I'm new to this

More data is needed. What OS are the machines running? Are192.168.88.1 and 192.168.88.2 wired of Wifi? Why the need for 2 gateways in the first place?

 

It would be useful if you could do a network map so we can see how your network is setup.

They are wired, 192.168.88.2 is tecnically a LTE modem i had hanging around so Im using it as a AP.

Don't use a router as an access point unless you can disable DHCP as it causes this problem.

So, I can disable DHCP. Will it continue to work normally?

You should have DHCP off for 192.168.88.1 and on for 192.168.88.2. Then you need to configure .88.2 with a static IP connection to 88.1. Finally all your devices should then connect to 88.2 which will give them an IP via DHCP.

Okay, I will try that later on, but what would be the result of disabling DHCP server for 88.2?
