So I have my 2017 MacBook Air and I want to get Minecraft Java Edition for it. I want to keep a consistent 60fps and I don't know which settings I should use. Before I describe more, here are my detailed specs.

Specs:

Intel Core i5-5350U Processor (Dual-Core, Quad-Thread)

Intel HD Graphics 6000 (Integrated)

8GB of 1600MHz DDR3 Memory

256GB Storage (~100GB Available)

Will it handle it without it throttling or am I being crazy and I am going to have a crappy time running it? Will lowering settings and Optifine help? Please let me know.

my cousin runs a very similar setup. I can't remember his settings but they're generally low  (especially render distance, around 8 chunks cause a dual core mobile chip can only get you so far) and his performance is quite smooth.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Does he use Optifine?

Will I get higher FPS/a better experience using Optifine?

anything that lowers graphics will increase performance on a setup like this. If you find that reducing detail is something you need, optifine is always a good option
