Budget (including currency): Practically Unlimited.

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Medium CPU usage, High RAM usage, and no GPU usage. Copying files from one storage device to another.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Looking at building a processing server with approx 6 USB ports which can all run at approx 200MB/s sustained rate.

Without going too much into detail, as it relates to my job, I need to transfer large amounts of data (1-8TB) at a time to external USB hard drives - ideally I would like to use something like unraid or freenas to have multiple VMS with dedicated USB ports. Each VM will run software to download data to a hard drive - simultaneously. As a minimum it requires 6x USB3 Ports (2x USB2 for mouse/keyboard - if required), 4 SATA ports, a Processor which can be split into 3x PCs - Software used does not have high CPU usage. RAM required approx 64GB per VM.

Any suggestions would be great. Open to suggestions, unfortunately I can't go into the software or use of due to NDAs.

If you want 3 VMs with 64 GB each (=192 GB), you're looking at something like 8x 32 GB (=256 GB), which means you're well into server level hardware. You might have better luck finding answers for stuff like that here: https://forum.level1techs.com/
