Please help having weird display issues.

HI iv been having a really weird issue. On the bottom.left of my screen mag342cqr is my monitor. Is a green colored tint. It shows on only dark backgrounds grey's etc. When in light it white background it goes away. The issue went away when I switched from DP to HDMI in already got a new DP cable and it is still there. I changed the refresh rate in windows from 144 to 100 it lesson the degree of the tint when i changed it back to 144 it returned. Please any and all help to fix this issue is much appreciated.

With no pictures I have no idea if it’s a monitor issue, (thinking maybe backlight or fresnel or something.  I don’t know how that monitor panel is put together), a gpu issue, or what.  Things I would need (which I assume other people would likely be able to do even more with):

that GPU along with age, pics of the actual problem, possibly even video.  Maybe throw in full machine specs just because it is traditional. One thing I’m curious about is how it changes between apps. With this disappears with changes in backlight levels it sounds more monitor than GPU to me atm.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Evga 3070 cpu 10900k 32 gig of ram built it back in March. I changed the refresh rate to 60 from 144 in desktop settings and that solved the issue. It also went away when I uninstalled graphics card drives but returned when re installed and it went back to 144. Like the darker the seen aka like darker the shadow darker the green. But in white pages or lighter colors it was fine. In settings I I changed it to 60hz but games still run in 144 fine.

The top pic looks like it’s a monitor imperfection.  That it isn’t visible when the monitor isn’t working as hard implies it’s not one that is particularly strong.  I notice the taskbar is a different color in each image.  Like the backlight is so strong it’s overwhelming the LCD. I suppose it could just be an artifact of the photography.  A huge backlight change like that could be a gpu or settings problem.  I don’t know if 144 needs more backlight than 60.  But it could be the case.  Seems like a lot to me though. Gets into the specifics of what is changed when machines do high refresh and I don’t know enough.

It's something that just started a few days ago. Everything was fine till then. Any time a game runs at 144 it does it  but 60 it's fine. Iv already ordered a new monitor hopefully it fixes the issue if not then the only other option is graphics card Wich replacement of a 3070 would be a very difficult issue atm. Here is another look at the issue.

Something pumped up the backlight a lot I think. Look how grey the taskbar is.  There’s also variation in tone in it.  Could be that splotch was alsways there but didn’t matter until the backlight went up.  This is the downfall of photography though.  Your eyes and brain aren’t exactly cameras.  Weird stuff happens.  Means what I’m looking at might not be quite what you are seeing.  The taskbar is supposed to be black.  Looks from here like the entire screen just got a lot brighter. I don’t know what is causing it.  Could be a monitor failure, could be a monitor setting could be a gpu setting could be a windows setting.

True the only thing I know for sure is the refresh rate is the cause. Because lowering it takes care of it. well may not be the cause but is an x factor because it's centered around it. Atleast from my understanding of the situation.

Yeah.  I’m thinking the act raising the refresh rate may be changing the backlight somehow. How I don’t know though.  One test might be to  hook up just about any monitor to the screen.  Even a craptacular one as long as it does the same refresh rate.  There’s a thought..  does it also do it at 120?  I’ve heard of 120hz panels being marketed as 144 but would only actually do it with a wacky overclock that caused weird issues.

If it’s happening in some apps but not others at the same resolution Then it’s app related.  Windows is an app.
