Does anyone know why this happens? Is it possibly driver related?

I'm not sure i turn it off instantly when it happens.
But lets say this is the case. What is your hypothesis?

If they do, I think it was a sign of a bad CPU or a bad mobo.

The PC also often goes black when alt tabbing or changing resolutions

What is a Mobo?

first I would try updating the bios. Also, did it happen with your old graphics card?

The black screen has been an issue since like half a year but i didn't think that much of it. The fans going crazy started recently.

Can you open up Radeon Software and check your notifications(bell icon top right) for something like ‘Default Radeon WattMan Settings Have been Restored due to Unexpected System Failure’?

I must elaborate. My screen doesn't just go black when it happens. The Display just completely fails to capture the signal of my pc after it happens.

Is anything overheating? (CPU, GPU, motherboard)

I did a Firestrike Ultra and the highest the CPU got was 70 degrees Celsius during the Physics test. So hardly dangerous territory.

The GPU was not getting higher then 60 Degrees Celsius.

What about the motherboard VRM's?

Can you update the BIOS and reinstall GPU drivers with DDU?
