I am planning on getting a iPad, but i can't make up my mind between getting an used iPad 2 or iPad mini (non-retina). The only reason i'm planning on getting an iPad is due to the fact that i'm currently working in the audio/live sound industry and all the software seems to be optimised for iOS and a lot of companies are not developing software for the Android platform (which is annoying as I have a Nexus 7). Just trying to figure out what would be a better investment, currently i'm leaning on the iPad mini side as it is newer than the now discontinued iPad 2, but then again the iPad 2 has a larger surface (be it with the same resolution as the mini).

Thanks in advance!

The iPad 4 should be out to replace the iPad 2 as apples budget option

Either an iPad 3/4 or iPad mini retina are your best bet for bang for buck

The iPad 2 and iPad mini will stop being support sooner rather than later (both share the same old processor and screen), eventually apps and updates will stop coming out for them

If you need a big screen get the iPad 2, for everything else get the iPad mini, i would recommend the white version because the black has the same finish that the iPhone 5 and it likes to scratch.
