Fps drops occasionally

So i have a gaming laptop that i purchased almost 2 years ago and in the last 3-5 months my cpu goes over 100 degrees celsius and it just drops to 0.40mhz to cool it down. This didnt happen at all and it suddenly started doing that. I bought new laptop fans after one of them broke and first 3 days it was completely fine but now it started doing it again. I cleaned the laptop like 5 months ago to change the thermal pads they were dry but i had only paste on hands and i used thermal paste. Could it be the thermal pads?
The Laptop model is Asus TUF Fx505dd
Ryzen 7 3750H
