Hello, I'm planning to buy a new RTX 3060/3060 ti I know that card needs 12 pin PCIe connector. Right now I have 8pin GPU connected and there are more 6 pins left so in total I have 14 pins. So I wonder will it work if I connect 14 pin to a 12 pin GPU will it fit? And will it work? I will appreciate your help...

the 12 pin GPUs are Nvidia's founders edition ones and other card are using the traditional 8 pin connector

even if your card comes with a 12 pin connector

there is a adaptor in your GPUs box

don't just connect the 8 pin and 6 pin next to each other

pin alignment is not just putting cable together

Typically the distributors 3060(ti) wont need a 12pin connection, thats mostly for top tier cards. They'll need two 6 pins or only a single 6pin, if you look at certain models you'll see that. So if you look at Asus, EVGA or any other brands cards, then you'll see how many pins they need.
