Sorry for the repost but i think this topic fits this category best. After my friend closed my computer by pressing the button for 5 seconds, my computer is stuck on the spinning circles, I tried automatic repair, and I don't have a windows recovery CD (I downloaded it with upgrade manager) the only back up I have is a clone copy on my other hard drive. Anyway to repaired that without formatting and re-downloading it completely? Thanks in advance!

You could try rewriting the boot sector/ MBR that is what I would try anyway, but you need a Windows 8 install disc, if you have another PC available you could download a copy from thepiratebay (risky if you don't know what to look for) then burn it to a DVD and use the steps below, then once you are done, destroy that DVD, It IS ILLEGAL to download Microsoft Windows. that is why I said delete the file and destroy the disk,

If you have obtained a copy, then follow these steps.

Step 1: Insert the Windows 8 Installation Disc in your system’s optical drive, or use a bootable USB for that matter, and make sure you boot your PC using this removable media.

Step 2: On the Install now screen, select Repair your computer.

Step 3: On the next screen, choose Troubleshoot, followed by Advanced options.

Step 4: From Advanced options, launch a command prompt windows, and enter the following command bootrec.exe /fixmbr

Step 5: Once the command is finished, reboot your computer the normal way, and Windows 8 should load just fine now.

Hope it helped
