Atmel Studio Equivalent for Linux

Hey guys,

So I'm taking a software engineering course at the moment where they recommend the use of Atmel Studio, however; I'm on Linux and don't really want to setup a virtual machine (although if that's the only option, then I guess that will have to do). Does anyone know of an equivalent to Atmel Studio for Linux?

Thanks!

I can not help too much, but it seems that it will run in WINE.  Here is an article I found on it http://www.avrfreaks.net/modules/FreaksArticles/files/601/AVR_Studio_on_Linux.pdf

All you really need are the compilers. Any text editor will work for actual coding, thrn calling the compiler to compile the code.

You can look around for distribution-specific installation easily.
