Computer reboots while playing games. Temperatures are good so I believe I can rule out overheating, maybe not. Computer was fine for a few months after I fixed its first problem (overheating cpu bc cyberpower put practically no paste on it). Now the computer will reboot on games and sometimes not reboot until I power the system off. Very recently, as in last night the computer rebooted twice while playing BF4 on all low settings (1080p). First reboot just like all others, I powered off the system and powered it on. Second reboot scared me to be fair. The computer did a reboot shortly after launching bf4 again and playing. This time the computer was able to boot back up on its own but did not recognize the GPU. The GPU’s fans were spinning while task manager did not read a gpu. After powering off the system at the very end after going through the “shutting off…” windows screen, I saw a screen glitch as if I turned off a tv from the 90s and saw that white closure on screen. Only for a second. The system recognized my card after being powered on but gives me a feeling it could very well be the gpu.

Thanks for reading my post! Any help would be greatly appreciated! I will be testing if it’s the PCIe slot or card and reinstalling its drivers.

If you have an alternative GPU you could try that. A simple, cheap GT710 will suffice (obviously not for gaming, but for troubleshooting it's fine)

One thing you can do easily is reseating everything: CPU, GPU, various connectors from the PSU, etc. Do note that too much paste isn't good either. So check the CPU, preferably clean it all off, then reapply some paste, a small pie size blob in the middle will do. The pressure of the cooler on the CPU will disperse the paste outwards so that it fills any cavity perfectly. I've seen peeps spreading paste on their CPU like buttering a sandwich, that's way, waaaayyyy too much!
