Since both the entrants are running Nvidia GPUs it might be worthwhile holding off on the conclusion for a while, Nvidias 470 drivers did make some much needed improvements to how they handle desktop composition but 480 is where its at. Nvidia have committed to dropping most of their proprietary backend stuff and using native Linux libraries instead. Not only should this make the drivers easier to install but also work better for desktop, gaming and IMO the most important, when using Wayland over X11.

 

Its a great thing you guys are highlighting the issues with running Nvidia GPUs on Linux but IMO its only fair you also allow them the chance to improve and take a look at the improved version.
