Hey, here is my first build and my update on computer parts since 2011.... I would like a peer review on this and see if i should consider better alternative for parts, airflow, etc.

Budget (including currency): 1000-1500 cad without gpu but with onboard gpu

Country: canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: light gaming (was running with a gt 555m since 2011.... Lame but want to upgrade and play better game now haha. Doing programming as well so virtualization a plus and doing CAD modeling occasionally but with inventor which is more ram consuming than graphics.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB Video Card, keyboard and mouse. Would like something good looking as it is my first build and probably the last for at least 5to8 years.

Personally, I think that the things that should be swapped out are the AIO Cooler and the second SSD. If you are only planning to use this for light gaming, I think it is a little overkill to spend that much on a cooler. Perhaps instead you could look at a cooler like this one for around a third of the price...

https://www.amazon.ca/Cooler-Master-RR-212S-20PC-R1-Direct-Contact/dp/B07H22TC1N/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3O0EXPPTWHQ2V&dchild=1&keywords=cooler+master+hyper+212&qid=1633489212&sprefix=cooler+m%2Caps%2C184&sr=8-1

Saves a lot of money and will be plenty for your cooling unless you are running some very heavy stuff on an overclocked CPU. Also, I would drop the second 500Gb NVMe SSD and get a 2Tb HDD instead. 500Gb fills up rather fast with games these days, and taking up one of your NVMe slots for only 500Gb (the other 1Tb NVMe is fine) seems like a waste to me... This 2Tb Seagate BarraCuda is $20 cheaper and will do well:

https://www.amazon.ca/Seagate-Barracuda-Internal-Drive-3-5-Inch/dp/B07H2RR55Q/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2Z2HX4HO8UU7F&dchild=1&keywords=2tb+hdd&qid=1633489316&sprefix=2tb+%2Caps%2C200&sr=8-5

Other than that, everything looks fine. THe only other suggestion I would make is to look for a 80 Plus Gold efficiency rating power supply with the money you free up from what I mentioned above (should you decide to do so). If you are truly planning to use this PC for the next 5-8 years, that efficiency will go a long way.

Great List, but I switched a few parts.

First of all, the cooler as the Hyper 212 RGB performs also good and is 10 bucks cheaper.

Then the Motherboard, the A-Pro is almost identical to the B550 Gaming Plus in features but also 10 $ less.

I went with 3600MHz Memory, as Ryzen tends to perform better with higher frequency memory.

I like your storage, you can get a 2TB HDD and be fine for game storage (thats what I first did) as it will still have normal and fast load times for games.

The Case... yeah I like the 4000D very much but the 4000X performs worse because of the lesser airflow. I suggest getting a 4000D and some decent fans (uphere, or the LianLi ones). You can also pick a P400a mesh from phanteks, but yeah, overall a very nice build when you find a decent gpu!
