hi. I have an issue with my pc.

case: deepcool matrexx 50 with 3x120 front coolers intake and 1x120 cooler back outtake

mbo: B450 Tomahawk max;

cpu: Ryzen 5 3600

gpu: gtx 1060 6gb

ram: 2x8gb ddr4 3300mhz

ssd: 1x120gb for OS; 1x500 GB for games

hdd: 1tb WD 7200rpm

psu: supremo fm2 650w full modular 80+ gold

sound: creative SB x-fi sorround pro

cpu cooler: aio - id cooling frostflow 240, outtake (up)

my issue: when i play Assassin's Creed Valhalla sound stops for a few seconds then continue. or let's say when i run/walk around game freezes for a few seconds then continue. this isn't the only game that acts like this. it doesn't matter if I start to play right after i powered on my pc or after a few hours. this happens on older games: Tomb raider (the reboot)

what I have tried: put the game on lower quality; Nvidia control panel power management set to maximum performance; windows power management set to high performance. unistall antivirus software; clean space on ssd; install fresh windows.

i didn't overclock anything; only: enable xmp on mbo

this is going to sound really outlandish and its very likely NOT your issue... but I had an issue with games freezing that I should 100% be able to run with no issues... Skyrim, Fallout New Vegas... stuff like that. I recently set my background to change every minute or two between pictures in a folder. I noticed the stuttering after that, though I don't remember if it cause audio issues. but after digging around apparently windows 10 slideshow can REALLY take a toll on performance. I'm running on an HP Gaming laptop Core I5 9300H and GTX1050 3gb and had never had issues with either game before that.. going back to a static background fixed the issue immediately

is this a recent issue? something new that has never happened in those games before?

have you tried running HWMonitor or anything to see where the problem is, if its the CPU maxing out and having to throttle? Running HWMonitor when I was having my issue showed that when the screens would change it would basically red line for a second and cause everything else to have issues.
