Ipad Instant Charging

Hi LTT community,

I found this 40w power brick lying around and thought it would be useful to instantly charge my iPad, since its battery doesn’t keep up with my work routine, and the in-box 12w charger was way too slow. After leaving it there for an hour, it still stayed on 2%.

I then shut it down and tried again to charge. When I booted it up an hour after charging, it had 88% battery and made me happy, but it returned to 1% in just a few seconds.

why does this instant charging method not work?

 Can you also tell me the best charging possible for my iPad?
