Quick question about anti virus software

So my question is do you need to pay for anti virus software or is Windows defender good enough? I always though anti virus software you pay for is just another form of blothware. Is it worth it or do I stick with Windows defender

Windows defender is good enough, with maybe KVRT and Malwarebytes for really really rainy day. Common Sense is the best antivirus you can own.
