My sons psu died recently and even though i have a spare Corsair CX750M i cannot find the 2x 6+2 pcie cable to power the gpu. I do however have a couple of molex-pcie adapters but i am unsure if it is safe. Most online advice assumes the psu came without the proper pcie cables while mine did.

The gpu i'm trying to run is a 2GB MSI GTX 670 Power Edition which requires 2x 6 pin for power.

Will the adapters be adequate and most importantly safe to use while i wait for a replacement pcie cable to arrive?

Thank you

They should work until the replacement arrives. The biggest concern is that with the amount of current draw, it could end up melting those connectors.

I have, however used them with a GTX960 and it worked no problem.

TL;DR You should be fine.

Should be fine if the adapters are the ones that use two molex per 6 pin.  Just try to use two different Molex leads instead of daisy chaining from the same line.
