Hello forum!

I have an older system with an i5-6500 cooled by a passive CR-80EH. The case fans provide extra airflow, and they are set up to stop completely below a threshold CPU temperature of 55 Celsius. Lately I've been playing around with fans and cooling in general, and also switched from using the Asus AI suite fan software to using Speedfan. With Speedfan, I used a less aggressive fan curve, also starting the fans at 55C, and I started getting blue screens (WHEA uncorrected errors). I lowered the threshold to 45C, and the blue screens stopped. However, I noticed that I am still getting WHEA *corrected* errors (cache hierarchy errors), with the number of these errors I think being somewhat directly proportional to the temperature at which I start my fans. I am left wondering if I had been getting corrected WHEA errors all along (I never checked until I had an actual problem), or if I somehow caused these to start occurring with my fan experiments.

My questions:

1. Is it safe to ignore these corrected WHEA errors? Do you think I might have caused them with my experimentation?

2. How can I be getting the uncorrected WHEA BSOD if I simply raise my fan start threshold 5 degrees? I'm pretty sure the CPU never gets to high temperatures. Can such errors occur at lower temps, say, below 70C?

Thanks for your thoughts.
