Video editing software

Just wondering what everyone is using for video editing software and what you like and hate about it. I got premiere 9 on my laptop, and I am kind of looking for something newer then that to put on my desktop I built last month. I don't plan on doing really heavy video editing, but occasional videos I shoot while fishing and then the ones I take of family events. For the family stuff, I would like one that is friendly to putting the movies onto dvds to give to other family members. Just looking for suggestions based on every ones personal experience. One that will utilize a 4930k and 32gb of ram fully to edit fast would be a plus.

I love my Premiere Pro, but if you're planning doing lite editing of family videos and such I think Movie Edit Pro is maybe better solution for you - http://www.magix.com/us/movie-edit-pro/

I like the look of that one, I will keep it in mind for sure.
