3070 TI

Go to solution Solved by Fasauceome,

650 watts is suitable for a 3070 ti, and the CX650 has a pretty good transient response. You shouldn't worry about this configuration.

I am looking to upgrade to a 3070 TI in the next few days.

I currently have an Corsair CX650M PSU which I think will be fine for a short while, this is paired with a 5800x. Do you think this will be ok to run for a short while?

I'm looking to upgrade my PSU shortly down the road or do you think there could be an issue on 12V rail?

Cheers

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

Thank you, also one more question. Do you know if the 650 even has 3 8 PCI cables? Finding it hard to find the answer on the corsair website.

*Apparently has 4*

i think that psu have 2 cables with 4 pci connectors, anyway if you didnt buy gpu ye get normal 3070, 3070ti is just a waste of power.. i  personaly wouldn't get  any gddr6x gpu, but if you really want get  a 3080 but  eather way for 3070 ti or 3080 your psu will work for now but i would recommend swap it for a 750W minimum.
