Needing help with Streamlabs

I am trying to get into game streaming. Ive managed to cobble together a decent setup. My build is more than capable with a 2080Super, Ryzen 9 3900x cpu and 32gbs RAM. Im having issues with sound while im streaming. Ive read forums, watched videos and generally leave more confused than i start. I need to know how to set up my audio. I would prefer to have audio coming through a headset, while being able to have that same audio playing in stream, but i usually have seriously bad echos and feedback anytime i use my microphone. HELP

First, don't use SLOBS as it's a massive resource hog the vanilla OBS studio is much less of a hog.

 

Second, make sure you don't have monitoring active for your mic in windows and in any software it uses since I've had issues with a headset mic being fed through to the headset and it took a few attempts to turn of monitoring.

How is your audio setup? Both OBS and Streamlabs should be OK with just quick setup. So did you change already something in audio setup? Like said, reason for echo could be that you are listening your own voice or stream preview.

 

From just that description. You should have software to record two audio sources, your mic and your desktop sounds. Latter being what you hear also. Nothing more is needed for basic setup. If you get echo/feedback, then your mic is picking up itself somehow. When using headphones, this should not happen unless something has changed from the defaults.
