Hi guys,

I live in Australia and when i try and watch a stream on Twitch it is stuttering a lot. i have speed tested my connection a lot and it is always constant at 11Mb/s.

I realize that there can be soo many different variables but i believe i have removed a lot of them. i have tried all different qualities higher and lower. I have made sure that there is nothing in the back ground downloading. I have tried streaming twitch to my iphone and i suffer same problem. Watching youtube videos has no problem at any quality.

The weirdest thing is that it seems to come good after 11 'clock at night, however there is no change to my speed of connection according to speed test,.

My question is: has anyone experienced this problem? Can my ISP throttle speed to specific websites at specific times?

i just think its weird that my "fast internet connection" cannot stream a channel at 360p but can load a youtube video at 1080p fine.

Thanks.

only thing i could think of is there is a lot more traffic during the day and at night people are going to bed so you are getting a more stable connection. what is your ping and jitter if you have a lot of jitter you will struggle to watch anything online as it mean it struggles to keep a constant connection. go to pingtest.net and compare your results to this page http://www.pingtest.net/learn.php#components

They are kind of different because you can't buffer a twitch stream as you can with a YouTube video. It most likely is your ISP throttling twitch. There is really very little you can do besides phone your ISP and ask about it. Even then it's very unlikely they will stop throttling. You could also try switching to a wired connection if you are not already on one.

Hope this helps

Gavin

HOW I OVERCAME TWITCH BUFFERING EVERY 5-10s

Block the incoming connection from either your router firewall, or windows firewall

This IP range "199.9.248.0 - 199.9.255.255"

I'm an aussie, and was buffering my mates channel every 5-10s, since doing this, I'm currently STILL watching this stream all in one hit with no buffering, have been for the last 15mins!

A huge difference, unwatchable to AWESOMELY watchable.

Reasons - Google is routing/limiting traffic, blocking the IP range it uses makes it default back to what it should be, no routing, full bandwidth.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
