I have a sapphire reference r9-290 in my wifes gaming rig that I used to use in my gaming rig until I upgraded to a real video card and she don't like how loud it is...of course... anyway my cousin offered to trade me his sapphire 7970 and a 120gb corsair force ssd for my 290. It'd make my wife happy and I'd get a new ssd even though I don't need one as I have a few but I wouldn't have a decent backup card if mine burned up.. would you trade considering the circumstances? my wife only has a 1080 monitor BTW so a 7970 would be plenty enough power for her...

Kraken g10 that b@$#& for Cheaap as.

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only a GTX 1080, just a single 1080, where my glorious PC once stood....

For that is all I need, For the Emperor of Man, Jen-Hsun Huang, protects. We march for Nvidia, and we shall know no fear!

Yeah I would do it. Isn't the 290 a re-badged 7970? so you get a ssd and a good cooler for the same performance if it is.

No, it is not a rebadged 7970. It uses the new "hawaii" architecture

okay thanks, he can get a really good performing 1080p card with a better cooler and get a nice ssd.

what exactly did you upgrade to? I wanna know what this "real video card" is ...

I think he was poking fun at the fact that when at full load the card sounds like a hair-dryer and he got something that wasn't that extreme.
