Hi all!

I have a MacBook Air M1, base model but with 16gb RAM.

I have a Sandisk Portable SSD 1TB. (up to 520MB/s see link for exact model)

The SSD is connected to my MacBook via the cable that came with it (USB-C to USB-A, blue on inside she should be USB 3.0??) using a Satechi Type-C Pro Hub Adapter (supports up to 5Gbps on its USB-A interface, see link for exact model: )

However I am only getting speeds of 34MB/s with the Blackmagic Disk speed Test

I am not expecting the full advertised speed of 520MB/s or 5Gbps, but 34MB/s seems extremely slow. Isn't that USB 2.0 speed?

Any idea is to what the issue might be? Is it possible the cable is not really a USB 3.0 or is there another issue you can think of?

Thanks!

Gijs
