CPU - 3970X Threadripper

Motherboard - ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha

GPU - twin (SLI) 3090

I can have up to 5 m.2 drives.  Not starting out with 5 but may eventually get there.

Question 1: If i do have two 3090's (SLI or not), will this motherboard run the both at 16x? (16x/16x) or would it be 16x/8x?

Question 2: If i put 5 M.2 drives in, I KNOW i delete the use of one(1) of the banks of 4 SATA's, but will it limit the GPU question above?  ie 8x/8x or 8x/4x?

Sorry, I have researched this to death and I cannot wrap my head around the concept.  I just don't understand how the PCI stuff works.

Thank you all in advance!

You have 88 total PCIE lanes to play with. I'm pretty sure you can run two GPUs at 16/16 and 5 M.2 SSDs at 4x without the latter impacting the former.
