i know this is my 10000 post about this but i keep finding mixed answers. usually when i just boot up my 5800x temps idle are about 35-50. obviously by time it starts to heat up. however gaming it can reach 80 and on very demanding cpu games like flight sim 2020 can even get to 85. cinebench r20 multicore test gets to 90c instantly but my scores a fairly decent 5600-6000. im sure it isnt a mounting issue or a thermal paste issue ive double checked. my cooler is a kraken x63 and my case is the h500p cooler master not the mesh one but the glass front panel one ( removing front panel does nothing to temps). i have 2x 140mm fans at the top blowing air into the pc itself and 2 intake 200mm fans and 1 rear exhaust fan. im running stock settings no oc no nothing. ambient temp(x) is 24<x<27. some people told me i just have a bad chip but ive also seen many reviewers having high temps so maybe im not so unlucky. i want just a clear answer as to this is normal for my config and conditions or not.

Thank you in advance!

You have both top intake and front intake? Where is the AIO installed? At the top?

It sounds like you're running very positive pressure which can create hotspots. Also having two bidirectional intakes like that creates eddys where the air ends up not reaching the components because it gets trapped. Try switching the top to exhaust.

sorry my explanation was terrible the aio is installed at the top and the fans are facing towards the mobo and gpu etc

Facing sure, but what is the directionality of the air? Are they pulling air in or blowing it out through the radiator?

basically 2 fans facing downwards (these are the radiator ones), one exhaust and 2 at the front intake, i apologize once again for my explanation

Sounds like that would be exhaust. The default config would be fan fronts facing outward from the rad. You would have had to flip them to where the back sides were facing out instead to be intake, if they're positioned inside the case with the rad mounted directly to the case. Double check anyways.

i thought having them facing downwards was the best

A picture of your fans attached to the rad as it is would be much more useful in clarifying their orientation than trying to explain with words.

As for what's best for mounting the fans to the rad, it all depends on the case (though having fans pull air through the rad allows for easier dusting)
