Budget (including currency): £900

Country: England

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Warzone, Minecraft and games like A Plagues TaleSo

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So I wanna make a beginner gaming pc for myself, that can be easily upgraded in the future, but I don't want it to also brag the bank. What I've come up with so far: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/mw8Kvf , however I want it to be a tad bit cheaper if possible.

I think you should get an i5-10400f or i5-11400f (or the non-f variants) with a B460 or B560 motherboard. It could be up to £100 cheaper and performs the same (if you get the i5-10400f) or better (if you get the 11400f).

If you do stick with Ryzen, get faster RAM and a cheaper motherboard. The Ryzen 5 3600 doesn't need 1. a B550 motherboard and 2. a motherboard with VRM cooling as robust as it has. A WD Blue SN550 is about £50 cheaper and performs the same for gaming compared to the 970 evo. The case is priced okay, but it doesn't have good airflow, look for something with a mesh front panel or at least more ventilation than the H510 has. The 1650 is very weak. For a system costing £900, a 1660 Super is the lowest tier graphics card I would go for. I'm sure if you looked on ebay you could find one for around the same price as that 1650.

Oh, and don't pay £90 for a windows key. Simply click "I don't have an activation key" when installing windows, and you have the full experience. If the watermark bothers you, get a cheap windows 10 from a third-party seller.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

This is what I have, put the fan on the back, and this will be good

the ssd has dram cache which is important in an ssd. changed the psu to one that I know is definitely reliable. You don't need to buy windows for that much

This looks good, but does it not need a cpu fan?
