I'm kinda dumb, but also curious, what is the circled item (in the picture below) called?

Should be in the manual for the case, but I never know it's name.  It just secures the addon cards.

I checked the manual, I'm just trying to find out how to put it in. I rebuilt my PC recently, and took it out, forgot how to put it back in , so I'm looking for a tutorial.

It literally just slides right down over the slots.  line up the screw holes.

they should be the same threading as standard case screws.  

 

6-32 Threading, home depot / other hardware stores should have something that'll work in a pinch, if you don't have them around.

It's called CHEAP CASE*.  Not knocking your computer at all, but since at-least around 1998~2000 that's been a signature of cheap cases.

When you get your next case, try to avoid any of them with those pesky lock/covers like that, they're just a pain when you can have the simple thumb-screws or other clip-in pressurized (usually plastic) spring or retainer mechanisms.

*Thankfully aside of the 'cheap case' feature, the rest of the case seems very nice by contrast, so surely it's not all bad.

the cover is there because they wanted the back of the case flat so less tooling. its a cost saving thing and most case have it.

Just chugged in some random screws lol, I think they were 6-32's. it worked
