Hi.

Since about a moment, my cpu is pretty hot idle or IG.

~50 idle | 80~85 IG.

My config:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.6 GHz)
  • Asus TUF B450 PLUS GAMING (MAJ Ryzen 3XXX)
  • NZXT H510i

I changed the stock amd cooler for a "Be quiet! Shadow Rock 3 white". But im pretty sure the stock amd cooler was running a better temp. 🧐

PS: I know about this case airflow was not the best. I let the stock fan. One rear exhaust, one top exhaust too.

If you guys have some tips to lower this, would be awesome.

Have a nice day!

@Syyde

You mean it's 50'C on idle and 80-85'C while gaming ?

I think i might be able to help a bit since i have the same CPU as you and almost the same cooler. I'm using on my Ryzen 5 3600 an BE QUIET! Shadow Rock LP instead of the stock cooler. I get around 40'C on idle but it fluctuates a lot cuz of how Ryzen works and even gets to 50'C on idle and then goes back to 40'C. In gaming i didn't see the CPU pass 62'C so far.

I can't say for sure but i would think that the Shadow Rock 3 would be better than Shadow Rock LP when it comes to coolers.

I don't know what PC case you have but i recently changed mine to lower my temps. I bought a case and put 6 fans + it has good airflow.

How many fans do you have on your current case, do you any fans on the front ?

I suggest either add more fans or just replace the entire PC case. For me changing the case was a HUGE improvement temperature-wise.

Im not sure about the cooler. Mine is pretty nice when i look on the web.

The big problem is the case (NZXT H510i) i think. Many people complain about the bad airflow but i got it about 6 month ago so hoped someone got a magical solution.

I let the stock fan. One rear exhaust, one top exhaust too.

Some guys on YT told that putting some fans on the front change nothing. Thinking about takin an AIO for the front panel...

But yeah changing the case is the second option
