question I need help with a PS5 and a Sony soundbar

So I'm facing a problem with audio from a PS5. I have a Sony HT-CT290/291 which only has USB, HDMI Arc and Optical Out. I'm planning to get a gaming monitor which only has 2 HDMI ports and one AUX port. What should I do to connect my PS5, monitor and soundbar? Should I use an HDMI splitter or an optical to 3.5mm from the soundbar to the monitor? Is it at all possible or should I just ditch the gaming monitor and get a classic TV?

Is your monitor HDMI 2.1 or HDMI 1.4/2.0? I don't know as of today whether HDMI 2.1 splitter exist, so that being said I'll assume you play PS5 at 1080p/4k 60hz.

 

You would probably need HDMI splitter, one output goes to your monitor, and another output would then need HDMI to optical converter then the optical cable goes to your soundbar. The reason you can't use HDMI to soundbar is it require HDMI ARC to work which monitors don't have. Don't take my word for it as I didn't test this myself, and getting TV would be more hassle-free.
