Budget (including currency): Something preferably less than $200

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Video editing and rendering/ mainly Gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Here is my current PCpartpicker list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/m97rkX

I will prob buy everything soon

I am wanting to go for 144 hz 1440p

I am wanting advice mainly on my motherboard. I am not sure if I have made the right choice. LMK if the motherboard budget is too low for my system, but I want to preferably be less than $200. Onboard WIFI would be convenient for my setup.

Thanks for the advice!

Would it be the most efficient on my build? Am I fine? Or am I spending too much

If you're mobo is about 50% of the cpu, I wouldn't say you're spending too much. With that said you can always go with the MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK

instead save about $60. Although, at your budget, it's pretty negligible. You might need a better cooler for a 3900X: something like the Scythe FUMA 2 is always a go to for a good value cooler, or good old Noctua NH-D15 is always a good choice. At your current price point, it might be worth looking at 5900X. Although, I don't think you'll see much of a performance difference between the two.

My one concern with the MSI mag B550 is that it doesnt have onboard wifi. I am unexperienced so I wouldn't be unreasonable to get that board I just don't know what are some good options in the way of WIFI connectors. Any reccomendations on that front?

Also, $60 is a fair price save for me. I have a big budget but I am not rich. I have just saved up for awhile.

The MSI B550 Gaming Edge wifi is cheaper. It will cope with any current Ryzen cpu.
