Disk goes to 100% while playing

Hello,

So recently while I am playing warzone my SSD spikes to 100% usage, totally out of the blue, which causes freezing and lagging in the middle of the game. This also happens when I play League of Legends, but not as often. Both games are installed on SSD.

I use discord and chrome also in the background while playing.

I tried to reinstall Windows but that didn't fix this problem.

 

Here is a picture from task manager showing the SSD at 100% usage while I am playing.

 

 

My PC specs are:

 

AMD RYZEN 5 3600

ASROCK B450M STEEL LEGEND
RAM: 2x8 Adata XPG Spectrix D41 TUF

Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super

SSD Kingston A400, 480GB

HDD 500GB 5400rmp

 

Does anyone know what is causing this?

How old is the SSD?

 

Usually high disk usage indicates a failing drive, as Windows is going over bad sectors trying to read the data and can't.

 

I would download a tool to check the health of the SSD to see if you can find any obvious issues with the drive. Jayz2cents on YT has a video were he discusses how to check the health of an SSD and which tool he uses. I would start there.

I will check that! I bought the SSD 1 year ago.
