the fractal design node 304 is a good choice for a NAS but it is not that cheap

I know its UK prices but components can be found in most places:

Fractal Arc Mini has 6 3.5inch drive bays is chaper than node 304 aswell

motherboard has plenty of sata 3 ports (8)

cpu is cheap, has on board graphics and low tdp

cpu cooler is cheap and i only put it there because amd stock cooler is loud and annoying

4gb of ram is fine, but better value when you buy 8gb

psu is enough for that system and a couple of drives.

if you wanted to save more money downgrade cpu an a4 is about half the price of that a8, 4gb ram will drop almost half, plenty of value cases with no cable management,

finally alot of people recommend wd reds
