Hello,

I am a student looking for a portable laptop that can both game and won’t be too heavy.I will only need it for casual gaming so I don’t need something too powerful. My budget is from 1000 to 1300 usd. Any recommendations?

College Student means carrying it around to various places and rugged use.  All laptops are portable by definition so i am assuming you mean an unusually easy to carry one.   Casual gaming doesn’t take much gpu these days.  There are MacBook airs in that price range.  They have a reputation for good I/o and reasonable ruggedness. That could be an option.  They’re not famed for running all games though there are many that work.  If you’ve already got software bought you want to use things could be problematic.  Price would effectively go up (or possibly down I suppose) according to what software you would need to buy.  In PC land I’ve heard good things about surface4s. Are there any specific tasks you know you want to do besides casual gaming?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
