I have i3 5th gen, 4gb ram, 5500 graphics, I can barely run any game, but the game which runs the most time with better fps is Minecraft,

I recently saw many youtubers and my friends switch to a minecraft client (client is a optional launcher for minecraft which has mods which makes mc look better ), in that client whenever i run it, it just eats more than 3gb ram and at the end it doesnt launch (it says not responding), and the physical memory goes to like 97%. Seeing this condition i have to kill it on task manager.

The client also has a feature which limits the ram which it would use, i set it to like 1.5, but still it took 3gb and crashed at the end of the day.

And the exact same thing is happening in the newer versions of minecraft. Though i set it to lower like 2gb, it uses more than what is the allocated ram, and the system just crashes,

If anyone has more idea about it, can you guys pls share?

It would mean alottt to me

which client are you using?

lunar client tends to use 3gb of ram in my experience for some reason, even if you set it lower. Try turning off unlimited fps and see if that helps. Otherwise, you will likely need to use plain optifine, a different client, or manually install mods through forge/fabric.

The client will allocate as much RAM as it needs to run. You simply can't try to limit the amount of RAM it consumes. Games are real time applications and they can't be forced to the page file with any positive results.

TL;DR you need more RAM or a new system.

CPU: Intel i7 - 5820k @ 4.5GHz, Cooler: Corsair H80i, Motherboard: MSI X99S Gaming 7, RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 2666MHz CL16,

GPU: ASUS GTX 980 Strix, Case: Corsair 900D, PSU: Corsair AX860i 860W, Keyboard: Logitech G19, Mouse: Corsair M95, Storage: Intel 730 Series 480GB SSD, WD 1.5TB Black

Display: BenQ XL2730Z 2560x1440 144Hz
